POWER GENERATION
Cooling Water
Many power plants use river or seawater as a source for cooling water. This cooling water is used for the surface condenser cooling circuit. The surface condenser is a water-cooled shell and tube heat exchanger installed to condense exhaust steam from a steam turbine and convert steam from its gaseous to its liquid state at a pressure below atmospheric pressure. In this application the SAB filter reliably removes solids, algae and other microorganisms upstream of the heat exchangers and ensures a high heat exchange rate.

Hydro
Generation of electricity by hydro power is one of the cleanest and most impressive methods of producing energy. Hydroelectricity is the most widely used form of renewable energy and is a flexible source of electricity. Within hydro power plants, SAB filters are used to filter the cooling water for the cooling circuits of the hydro electric turbine and the generator.

In many power generation applications, heat exchangers are used to connect primary and secondary cooling circuits. Here the SAB filter reliably removes solids upstream of the heat exchangers and ensures a highly efficient, solids-free heat exchanger.

Protection of Scrubbers
Many power plants use wet scrubbers to condition or clean flue gases. A reliable and high filter performance are key to ensure the efficiency and availability of the overall plant. The SAB product portfolio covers many innovative and proven filter solutions which reliably remove solids out of the scrubber water in order to protect the scrubber internals, for example the spray nozzles or the demister. Furthermore, the exceptionally low backflush flow minimizes the fluid losses.
