Georg Schünemann GmbH is a leading valves design and manufacturing company producing a full range of on-board marine valves for all surface and subsurface military vessels. In addition we develop and build complete systems which solve the most complex tasks on board.

NAVY
Compressed Air Systems
Compressed Air is indispensable on boar dof submarines and navy ships. With compressed air tanks are blown out, engines are started, the most sophisticated processes are controlled and even drive shafts are tightened. Compressed air is required at different pressures all over the submarine / ship. The compressed air system comprises HP-Air cylinders. Compressors, dryers, manifolds, filters, pressure reducers and pressure reducing stations as well as all kind of valves such as shut-off valves, regulating valves, safety relief valves, hull valves, etc.
NAVY
Sea Water and Fuel Systems
Onboard of submarines and naval surface ships seawater is the mainly used cooling agent for engines, compressors, HVAC as well as for other components which need cooling. It is also used for stabilization and is stored in ballast, trim and regulating tanks. The fuel systems consist of valves, filters andpumps to facilitate the flow of fuel from the tanks to the engines. SAB filters and valves are used to clean and distribute seawater and fuel onboard.

NAVY
Built In Breathing Systems
In case of fire, contaminated air on board of the submarine or flooding of the submarine an integrated Built in Breathing System will be used by the crew in order to breathe fresh air or breathing gas (Nitrox). The system consists mainly of cylinders which store the breathing air / gas, a pressure reducing station (BIBS) to reduce the HP air/gas to a pressure suitable for the breathing masks and couplings to connect the masks.
NAVY
Emergency Deballasting
If a problem occurs on a submarine whilst submerged a fast, secure surfacing of the boat is required and the on-board Emergency De-ballasting System EBS will be actuated. By actu-ating the EBS large amounts of air/gas will be transferred into the Main Ballast Tank (MBT) forcing the water out of the tank thus lowering the weight of the submarine and bringing it quickly to the surface.

NAVY
Diesel and Turbine Start Systems
Gas turbines are used on larger marine vessels in addition to diesel engines to achieve higher speeds. The turbines are started by large volumes of compressed air at low pressure. Even though diesel engines need lower flows to start they have the same high requirements relative to pressure and flow. The two stage design of SAB’s diesel and turbine start reducing station provides a very accurate outlet pressure even on highly unsteady inlet pressures and flow rates. For smaller navy ships and on submarines we supply single stage reducing stations.
