Desalination
Rising water demands and diminishing water supplies are exacerbating water scarcity in most world regions. Unconventional water resources, such as desalinated water, are expected to play a key role in narrowing the water demand-supply gap. In particular, the reverse osmosis desalination process via membranes has become a widely used solution to provide drinking water sourced from seawater or brackish water. In this process the SAB filter reliably removes solids upstream of the reverse osmosis system which takes out the salt and other minerals.

In many industrial applications, heat exchangers are used to connect primary and secondary cooling circuits. Here the SAB filter reliably removes solids upstream of the heat exchangers and ensures a highly efficient, solids-free heat exchanger.

Snowmaking Process
The production of so-called synthetic snow allows skiers to keep skiing, when natural snow does not fall from the sky. In order to make the snow, water is pumped from lakes, rivers or reservoirs nearby with a high pressure, to the snow cannons. The SAB filter, which is located inside the pump station, ensures the protection and uninterrupted operation of the UV sterilization system, the high-pressure pumps and the snow guns.
